Hi, I’m hanebox, the person behind Menura.

Recently, something unexpected happened, and it hit me hard financially. I’m going through a really difficult time right now.

Menura costs money to run every month, and right now I can’t keep covering it on my own.

If donations don’t reach $50 by November 7, 2026, Menura will have to stop running until further notice. I really don’t want that to happen, because it means a lot to me every time Menura helps someone.

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Menura handles information when you use menura.download (the “Service”). The Service is operated by hanebox (“we” or “us”), who is the data controller for the information described below.

Menura is designed to collect as little information as possible. The Service has no user accounts, does not use cookies, does not display advertising, and does not keep request logs. Files you convert or compress are processed entirely on your device.

1. Information processed on your device

  • Files you convert or compress are processed within your browser and are not uploaded to our server.
  • Downloads are assembled within your browser. Your download history is stored in your browser’s local storage, and files in progress are stored in your browser’s private file system. You can remove this data at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings.
  • The Service does not use cookies.

2. Information processed on our server

  • Retrieving links. Most platforms cannot be accessed directly from a browser. To retrieve media, your browser sends the link and related file addresses to our server, which requests the content from the platform and returns it to you. Our server does not store this content.
  • Request logs. Our web server does not keep access logs, so your IP address and the links you download are not recorded. Application error logs do not contain IP addresses or links.
  • Fair use limits. To distribute capacity fairly among users, our server keeps your IP address in memory for a short period, usually a few minutes. It is never written to disk.
  • Usage statistics. When a download, conversion, or compression is completed, we increase a daily total. These totals contain no information about you or your files.
  • Problem reports. If you submit a problem report, it includes the information you provide, such as a description, a link, the error shown, and optional contact details, together with the page you were on and your browser’s user agent. Reports are delivered to us through Telegram, are used solely to resolve the reported issue, and are deleted once they are no longer needed.

3. Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure visits. It does not use cookies and does not track you across websites. It records the page visited, the referring website, your browser type, and your country. For more information, please see Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

4. Service providers and third parties

  • Our server is hosted within the European Union.
  • When our server retrieves content, the request comes from our infrastructure, so the platform does not receive your IP address.
  • Preview images are loaded directly from the platform’s image servers, which receive your IP address and browser information. They do not receive the address of the page you are viewing.
  • Telegram delivers problem reports.
  • Links to third-party websites, such as X, are governed by those websites’ own privacy policies.

5. Legal basis

Where the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, we process information on the basis of our legitimate interests in operating the Service securely, maintaining its availability, and resolving reported problems (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal information about you, and to object to or restrict its processing. Because the Service has no accounts and keeps no request logs, the only personal information we may hold about you is a problem report you have submitted. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

7. Children

The Service is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will publish the revised version on this page and update the date above.
